Mobile Data Usage Set to Soar with Release of BBC iPlayer for Mobiles

by

According to Broadbandchoices, watching streamed TV for an hour will use up 300MB of your data allowance, which is a lot when you consider most tariffs are capped at 500MB to 1GB per month. It also says that watching a three minute music video on YouTube uses 12MB, downloading a movie of DVD quality uses 1.5GB, watching an hour of Downton Abbey on iPlayer uses 300MB, and uploading a photo to send to family overseas uses 2MB.
